For me the body length looks fine, just practice your wrap it tight against the last wrap. I usually stop at about the hook point and no farther back than the barb.

Not bad for just a few like that though.

Looking good! I prefer a little less tail, but that's my preference. The body looks fine to me. Keep it up and let us see the results!!

For your first tie those are pretty good. I also use a smaller tail because it helps me catch fish. It is what you have confidence in that really works. Welcome to the habit forming hobby of tying jigs.

Oh and save a few of your first so you can look back later and compare. Wish I had done that.

Thanks guys. I was most happy with the last one but did not have real high expectations going into the first few. I agree with the comments on the tails. Amazingly, I felt like I was quickly getting a grasp on the amount and placement to have the tails comeout the way I want them. Obviously, gotta spend some time in this learning curve.

I am used to making my own stuff, have built duck and turkey calls, bow and arrows, just seemed right to move on over to jigs. I can already tell this is going ot be addictive. :D

One thing is for sure, they wont fish any worse than the tubes we used this weekend.

All good tips for tying jigs. Not bad for your firsts but for me tail's are too thick.
