I will be taveling to Indiana this week on business. Since the weather sicks there right now, I anticipate lots of holtel room time. I will only be gone for a few days, so no need to check a bag. Has anyone carried a vise and hooks in a carry on bag. Think it will get taken away?

That depends on what they see and what they feel could be used as a weapon. Take apart some vises and they can be pretty useful for defense and weapons. I would call them to find out before taking a chance on it becoming a trophy for one of 5the screeners.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
I don't know but welcome to Indiana. We got snow![]()

Might want to bring your shovel too. We have 8" of snow.
Call the airline you're flying it differs all the time. If you're real worred about it mail it to the hotel you're staying at in care of your room.

Box your tying gear, insure it, and overnight to your destination. Most airlines aren't the problem, its the security prior to boarding. They will usually pull you out for a manual, then someone else is going to get brought in cause 99% have never heard of "tying", and then their going to at best only confiscate your bodkins and your scissors, and at that point when you're wondering if you're about to miss the flight, you'll be realizing how much easier it would have been to have overnighted a plain brown box to your hotel, patiently awaiting your arrival. Don't ask me how I know

GRR and Greg,
I will be in Evansville, IN this Friday to Tuesday with several trips back through June. Maybe we can get some fishing in on one of my trips.
baitmaster, the best advice I can give you is to reschedule your trip, the cold sucks. Have you called the airline for advice?
