Default Hard Times Brings good people

Quite a few of you know I went in for a heart procedure this week. As a consequence my driveway has not been touched since last Sat. When I blew it out prior to my procedure. Well the Doctor didn't want me to do anthing until Monday morning.

The wife had us stocked up on food and medicine so we didn't have to go anywhere. Anyway a neighbor of ours was on his way home he noticed our driveway. I am somewhat flaky about the driveway and I always keep it clear.

He knows this and figured something must be amiss. So tonight while I am eating dinner I hear a tractor running outside. I figure somebody called someone to plow a driveway and he got the wrong one. Upon discovering its Frank on his good will mission. Invite him in for coffee and try and pay him nope he won't take a dime.

Upon further discussion with Frank I discover he likes to eat fish. So next week he is going to get all he wants of Chef's Bill crappie , bluegill and perch. My wife will take care of the trimmins but the fish will be cooked by yours truly.

This guy just lost his lifelong wife a couple months ago and I know he is having a tough time adjusting. I hope the fish dinner will warm his heart like he warmed mine tonite.

Weather may be miserable up here in Ohio but I don't think I could find better neighbors.

Now that is the way all of us should live our lives. You will recover from your procedure, but your good neighbor's recovery will never fully happen. God's speed to the both of you. Eat your fill, and be very thankful.

Thats one other fringe benefit of living away from the big city IMO, people do notice little things like a driveway that normaly would be cleared..... and take care of each other. The farmer a mile down the road takes care of my drive when it gets too bad and I stock him up with some perch or crappie each year as a thank you.

I agree... take your neighbor fishing... helps me forget the rest of the world sometimes at least for a little while. Take care and YOU don't touch that snow!!!!!

    Default God blush your neighbor

yes there is still wonderful people in this world that we live in. Where I live here in that Oregon all our neighbors are wonderful we all look after one another here you might say it's like it was many years ago when you wanted something done and needed help your neighbor for always there. Recently my brother comes down with cancer and all my neighbors call to see if they could help me out and I thanked him very much. We are all the time borrowing or doing something for one another especially the women folks are always bringing down lots of homemade pies and homemade bread which is really a treat. Why forgot to mention that I am single and I take care of my brothers which are very handicapped in many ways so I thank God every day for having good people around me in a beautiful country where I live.
