I have a couple that I made so far, but think one was last year and maybe the other was 2 or 3 years back. Actually they are all flies.
See pics below...

Last year, but this is kind of heave and small since it's Tungsten.
Same different color...
Then the one for a couple years back...

Here's the closest thing I have tied to imitate ghost/grass shrimp.

Thanks all. Some good stuff. I am guessing the #6 saltwater fly shrimp imitator would be like a largish fresh water grass shrimp.

Never tied a shrimp before, don't even know if we have them in OH, but have made a few craws.I'm always up for a challenge! :D Just tied one up.
1/32 oz. (Would prob. be closer to size on a 1/64 or 1/80)
Yellow Nylon Yarn
Yellow Hackle
Mono Eyes

A 1/100 with a synthetic dubbing in a clear pinkish color and a clear pink scud back would be perfect. I have tied some in a fly the same way. Paint the jig head in a peachy cream color and add 2 black dots for eyes or some monofilatment with the ends burned for eyes. Those puppies are tiny and hard to tie but work really well here for trout and perch in the reeds and lilly pads.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.
That sir, is an awesome imitation! I am not sure how those eyes would hold up to some beatings, but that is OK. Shrimp naturally back away from their predators, so with your configuration lifting that jig could trigger a lot of strikes.
I would take a few of those if you want to PM me with whatever you think is a good price for 6 + shipping. I believe 1/32 is fine, but a smaller one would be OK too. I will let you know how long they last!

Thanks! Haha, I thought you were just looking for a pattern to tie, I've never sold my jigs before, but will hook you up with a few N/C. Will gimme something to do while the lakes are still froze over. I don't have alot of any one jig head, so you might get a hodge podge if thats OK.
By the looks of the water in your bucket, I'm guessing the water is pretty clear. I may run up to the craft store tomorrow and see if I can find some closer yarn and thread colors... They won't go to waste because the light olive colors in those shrimp are very close to craws in my area.![]()
