    Default Cabela's Whip Finishing Tool Question

    Yea,I was cheap and got a Cabela's brand whip finishing tool.I watched a couple of videos,but,I still can't figure the thing out.Maybe I'm doing it wrong.This thing has a couple different hooks on the end,maybe I'm not putting the thread in the right one.I tried for 2 hours last night,No Knots,lol.Not even a wrap.Help Please.

    After trying many styles of whip fihishers I prefer the matarelli style above all others.
    Some can tie just as neat by hand. I am not one of those who are blessed that way.

    The only problem I have with them is constantly losing them on tying bench. 62 year old brain may have something to do with that.

    It's a whole lot easier if someone or youtube shows you. I like the Matarelli best too.

    It took forever to figure out myself, one day I got it right and I went "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." :D

    That was probably one of the better ways of seeing the Matarelli being used, he took the time to show you slowly. I watched a fellow use one and he had been doing it for years and he just "whipped" right through it and I just caught his finished jig.
