    Default Flair the Hair

I have found good sucess with flairing the hair/hackel on my jigs. Think they drop slower due to the parachute effect caused my the flair. Also the grub/minnow is exposed more.

Nice flair, looking pretty good. Are you tying them in tip first or butt first and then wrapping? Keep practicing so you can get more of the hackle tied closer together and you will have an even slower more even fall. Quality hackle will help with getting it nice and compact. Strung saddle is some of the better stuff to use for palmering.
I love taking my kids fishing, now if I could just manage to fish at the same time.

I've used these a bunch, one of my secret weapons, tip with a minnow and crappie wear them out. Make them buggier looking and go after the gills.

In my buddies private pond we would trap 1-2" bream for this jig and the crappie lovedddd them. Hook him through the hard part above the lips but not in the brain.

Tie green chart, white, and that pink and you'll tear up the crappie. You got it right with only going 1/4" from the head.

Great job. Sometimes simple works best.
