Started tinkering around this morning after getting home from work, wanted to try some new colors for Gills this Spring. Here are a few different patterns the main difference is the tail body and head are all the same... Would like to here some feedback from some of the old die hard gill guys as well as all you top dog crappie guys.... I call these my chunnie bug series
Head is a 1/100th minnow head on a #12 hook

They look good Doc!
Those should catch gills alright! Even tho basically same color, the chenille gives some contrast to the jig.
What color paint did you use on the heads?
Crappiekiller3
Sittin here wishin I was out fishin!!!
Doc #1 dark green tail # 2 marabou in olive A#1 Nice! Crappie that color has been Outlawed in Wisconsin at the time of it developement!
Dude
Looks good!!!!! I've tied on some size 22 and 24 fly hooks and if those are as tough as a 1/100th oz jig that's some excellent tying!!!!
Fatman
Leadhead ... thanks
Crappiekiller3 Body are all the same color was messing with different tail material to see what worked the best.... the color on the head is goldshiner
FF46 #1 Dark Green (squirrel tail in bass green) #2 sorry not Olive (watermelon) but great colors and of course they are your stock.... you the man
Fatman... havent tried to tying on a #22 or #24 but i will say the 1/100th on a #12 can be a tough tie... but actually gets easier the more you do it.... I now find the larger #2 and #4 to be tougher... figured they would be easier... guess i must be ass backwards at doing things
Real nice work. Good colors. I think that they'll both be a hit. With you, not the fish. They're gonna hate losin their cousins every time one of those swims by.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Very nice!
Nice jigs! I've caught a loooooot of bluegills on flies in olive colors
