40 degrees, no sun, stiff wind. Not a perfect day but it was a good day for me. Cabin fever drove me out of the house and I chased a few fish this morning. Only caught 2, both good solid keepers, 1 white and 1 black. On my hand tied gray minnow pattern. 2 friends fished with minnows close by and boated several 'gill and a LMB, but no Crappie. I love that jig:D. Thanx for reading

great job SkeetBum... it's always cool when your jigs tickle the crappies fancy more than anything else

Better tie up a couple dozen in different sizes, match the size to what they are feeding on.I do better with smaller baits when the water is cold, got thin ice here right now.

It was a bit windy, and I didn't have the right attitude to throw 1/32. I have some that are the same basic pattern with giunea feathers that should hold their shape better and do the trick. An early start or a calm day and I'm breakin em out. Looked last night and between the store boughts I had before I started tying and what I've made since I have 3 boxes full o jigs. Don't need to tie another for a while - but you know I will!! One of my buds got a report this past week that fish were being caught in 2 fow with a bobber. Had lots of fun this past winter once that started. Hope y'all get out. Merry Christmas.

Nice to catch them crappie on your jigs huh? I have a customer that has been killing them on my Tomato Seed Jigs I tie and others with him trying minnows not doing much at all. He is a very happy guy, LOL! Only wish I had been fishing so I could tell what I caught, but this year was just not my year to fish I guess. Too busy and I will not let that happen in 2010 and that I am sure of.
