You can melt the plastic worms and pour with them. I have made hundreds of jigs with old bass worms. The trick is melt the worms slowly in a microwave. If you try to melt them quickly the plastic will burn. I use an old low wattage microwave and have never burned any in it. Cut your worms into small pieces and put them in a Pyrex measuring cup. Your mold looks good. You just need to Vent the legs as stated. You can scribe lines from the legs on one side of the mold with a razor blade and then take the high spots off with some sandpaper. They may still not want to pour. Most small stuff is injected. I made a mold also for injecting but i still have not made a injection pot or injector. I had a mold made by a tackle maker then copied the design and made the second one myself with 50 cavaties. Also about 5 jighead molds. How well did your mold halfs line up? My first one sucked, drilling the dowel pin holes just didnt cut it. I had to go to circular pocket milling to get it done right. I even did 2 on the manual mill without a dro, and the pins were off by .005". The CNC was the best, takes a bit to learn the programming though.

I poured some tonight. Just got my plastisol. They do need vented like you all said.The tails didn't fill completely. I think I will vent them , and maybe build a injector. Robbor I didn't have any trouble getting the halves to line up. I used a cnc to machine these.

Great job ... If you want an injector (hand type) check Out Bears Baits & Del Mar Molds ,,, course if you made the molds you will more than likely enjoy making the injector

Well I got all this stuff together! Built a injector and shot some samples tonight. I think I need to add some hardener though. The baits are really squishy. what ratio of plastisol and hardener do you all use? here are some pics.

Bob or Keith,

I have a few lures that are tearing. Can I reheat old lures and then dip the other lures in the heated liquid to reseal them? Could I put stick on eyes on them, dip it into the liquid plastic, and hang it to dry to?

how do you intend to use this mold are you going to individually poor for each cavity I see the mold is not made up for injection molding all at one time if it is a hand poor you may have problems of filling the cavities completely?.

yes you can read melt them down in a microwave and dip your plastic baits into them might make sure that your use in a Pyrex cup in the microwave when you are reheating plastics make sure that you stir them quite frankly way until they are completely melted do not put them in there for more than 2 min. or I should say 1 min. and check when this starts melting starts during just keep rechecking and stirring until they are melt completely I do not use a meter to check for temperatures in the microwave we pretty well know by trial and error exactly what is going on by checking it quite frankly.
