    Default Applying Head Cement

What do you guys use for applying head cement? The small plastic bottles I use with the needle tip keep plugging up. Need to find a better way.

I just use a bodkin... think that's the right name. :o My cement is really thin stuff but a drip sticks to the "pin" and just put it where I want it and rotate the jig.

I use the little bottle with a metal tube for the tip and I thin mine enough that I think it helps. I don't leave the tip off for the next jig though, I close it after every jig. I thin mine enough you can't feel where I put it.

You can also use a bodkin as that is what I use to do and probably sill would as a back up if I have trouble with the little bottle.

I do use a bodkin for the more thick stuff I make that is flexible when dry. Pretty much the same stuff as Dave's Flexament.

    Len,
I use Loctite brand that comes in a wide base bottle with a brush.Very stable and I trim the brush back a little. I get mine at Lowes. By the way your eye technique works great. Thanks !!

Back when I tied more flies than crappie jigs I used the bottle and just made sure to poke a piece of wire through the hole every now and then.

i use a turkey feather i picked up at my buddies place works great and i always know where it is and even trimed feather for a jig one time . but like they say it does build it up on the end , and i am afraid to try and trim it and break my end so i guess i'll use it till i no longer can get in on the jig where i want it .
but all in all no matter what you use as long as it gets there .
