Can anyone provide a little help on Rathbun Lake?
I was out on the lake Saturday for 8 hours and it was a rough go. I jigged some deep brush, threw a bobber and minnow close to the shore and around some timber, and even spider rigged in some coves and out deeper in the channels and caught one 5" male. I fished in the South Fork and went pretty far up the river, then worked several coves by South Fork Marina and also out on the main lake. The wind pushed me off the lake about 2pm. The water temps were between 60 on the main lake to 70 way back in the South Fork and in the coves. I would have thought they would be right up on the banks spawning, but I suppose with the water up 14 feet above pool its a crap shoot. Can anyone provide a little help on what colors and depths traditionally work there? Also, any help with what areas I should be working would be much appreciated.
