Default Fished Roberts Creek this Morning

Kept 17 but none of real size, most were just at 10". Caught double that many dinks. Fished in 15-20' and caught them at all depths. Key was to fish the windswept shore. Hard fishing but worth it. The crappie were feeding on shad hard as most of them had dead shad in their guts.

Thinking about heading to Rathbun tomorrow, anyone have an idea if they're biting there?

I've been wanting to try Robert's creek, never fished there. It's one of the few lakes that the DNR report says the crappie bite is decent. I had planned on heading to Rathbun, but it's just been too high. My cousin has worked for the corps there since the 70's, and is retiring this year. Wanted him to show me some hot spots. Earlier this year, he said he was getting a lot of O.T. in checking the dam. Figured I would wait till the water was lower, so they didn't have to check the dam so often.

Can't remember where I heard, but it seems like they are catching a few on Rathbun, but nothing exciting. If you go, let us know how you do. I think I'll wait a few weeks and let the water drop a bit more. It's still 14 ft higher than normal pool. DNR report says the bit is "slow".

if you know where to fish on Rathbun you can catch alot of fish right now and some really quality fish. The lake is down to the 918 range and theyre still drawing 3000 fps . well have some great fall fishing if they continue to draw the lake down at this pace.Had 13 over 11 1/2 with several over 14 just a week ago.

Fished Rathbun Saterday caought alot but no size biggest was only 10incher with most under 9inches. If one out of every 10 would of been 11 inch or more would of been a good day, just couldn't find any good ones.
