Big Creek 4/5/10
I fished Big Creek Lake on Monday 4/5/10. I made it out about 2 hours before being forced off of the lake by lightning. I managed to catch 2 crappie and 2 walleye. Of course the walleye were 14.5 inches long so they had to go back. The water temp was 46 degrees and wind was from the east. Wind from the east fish bite the least.....shouldn't have even went out....but I did. It didn't seem to matter where I went I couldn't find much for warmer water. So I went back to the spots I fished in the fall. The bigger bay to the west, i fished a few brush piles and a peice of the road in about 15 feet of water. I trolled home made spinners w/ bottom bouncers and crawlers for the eyes and caught the crappies on a slip bobber and minnow that I was dragging around at .8 miles an hour, while fishing the bouncers. This lake needs to warm up a while, I probably won't be back there for at least a few weeks.
