I was at Blue Grass FWA, Otter Pit, yesterday soaking up the sun. It was nice and cool to start, ended nice and warm. Water was about 53* to start, ended at almost 58*. I started trolling Flicker Shad just to find where the fish were. I found several schools before my daughter and Grandson showed up. We went back and got a few bites. We decided to get out of the wind on the South end of the lake. As I was trolling I got two 7" crappies. When we got to the South end, I saw a school at about 15'. I threw a marker and anchored away from it (advantage of a 16' rod). We stayed there the rest of the afternoon until we ran out of minnows. The three of us caught 20 crappie but only 3 keepers. Most were in the 6"-7" length. But we had fun and that's why we do this.
