My wife and I both have the afternoon off on Friday, too hot (for us) to fish but we both love a nice drive so are going to Patoka.
Neither of us have seen it before and it looks like we can turn it into an off the highway, scenic drive.
Haven't heard good things of late about Patoka fishing but we will of course be scoping out possible bank fishing spots for future reference.
Problem is if we decide to fish there in the future it will likely be packed.
Back in the 50's (yes 1950's) my dad took the sister and I mushroom hunting often in late March thru late April. We had our spots but we rarely if ever saw another hunter. It was the same with fishing, always easy to find a good and somewhat private spot.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy more people are enjoying our Wonderful outdoors yet I miss the days when being out in the wild included moments of solitude.
I will always miss those days.
check out the area around the bank and the pier at Osbourne for sure. Also around south Lick Fork.
smiles are contagious, spread them around
