    Default suspended crappie

I was just wanting to ask how everyone else catches suspended crappie. From what i have seen the last few days is the majority are holding 14 to 20 fow. I don't have a spider rig setup so I just cast jigs and add split shots until I start picking them up... So what are some other techniques that have been successful for you?

I mostly fish 2 tube jigs tied about a foot apart vertically. If fish are at a really specific depth, I'll throw a bobber stop on the line so I can repeat it exactly. Most of the time I just let out line to what I think is the right depth, seems to work pretty well for me.

A)slip bobber rig...you can set it to the exact depth. You can cast it and set still

B)Get you at least one long pole if you don't have one.You know that little piece of string that makes the bobber stop mentioned above? Put one of them on the string. Now measure out the depth to the fish from the hook to the knot. Now ease through them fish and hold that knot right at the water line. I hold the hook and slide the knot up the line outstretched between my reach...thats 6ft...one more time...12ft....half that distance center of chest to hand 3ft ...now I'm at 15 ft. Fish in standing timber and over the top of brush too.Sometimes they like you to hold it real still.

    c) drift through the fish with the wind controlling the speed of drift, and angle of the line to keep it at the right depth.

    d) trolling

These can all be done with a single pole...course not the same as a porcupine boat...but hey its fishing
