Cat Slab Masters at Monroe
The Cataract Slab Masters had their Thursday morning at Monroe this week. We had 10 teams and everyone struggled to catch some fish to weigh in. The first place team had just over 2 and 1/2 lbs in seven fish. They also had the Big Crappie at 1 1/4 lbs. So with a pound and a quarter fish the other six fish were pretty small. My partner and I finally decided to start keeping some fish to weigh in, so we kept 7 monsters that weighed in at a grand total of 3/4 lbs. Hey we finished 9th we did beat someone, so stop laughing. The lake was 10ft high and we had all styles of guys trying something. The crkbait trollers no good. Spdriggers nothing to talk about and the casters and minnow and bobbers nothing but little ones. East end of lake muddy and stained bad. Fast side clearer water but no one did good there. Looks as if we will be back to Monroe next week as the Cat is 30ft high. Will be Sept before we can get back on it. DNR tells me as long as Missy and Sally are up Cataract will be the last one lowered. Supposedly they all feed the Wabash.
