Last Friday,,got on Monroe at 7am and long lined jigs for a hour north bank across from cut right launch picked up a couple of nice 12 plus inchers then switched to bandits working the creek channel across to Grub point and above for another 3 hrs, picking up 4 more. Wind was heavy and rollers built to about 2-3 ft. so quit after total of 4 hrs, keeping 6.
Got on Patoka, launching at Walls at 6:30 am,this morning, working edges of creek above heading towards Kings Bridge, very slow with all the previous storms and rains we been getting, was the only boat in the entire area. Fished till noon, started with long lining jigs, picking up a total of 6 very nice keepers all were 11 to 12.5 inches and only caught a total of maybe 6 more dinks total, as it was very slow fishing. Tried the bandits for over a hour and didn't get a hit on them no matter what color I switched to. Water temp was 85 and clear. Boat speed 1.1 to 1.3, fishing 14-18 ft of water following creek channel area thru timber. Graphed a ton of fish suspended near clouds of baitfish everywhere and was surprised nothing much was hitting the top of the water anywhere, as most of the morning was too dead calm. Got off the water at noon as weather was changing and didn't want to get caught out in it. Will go back tho, as soon as the weather breaks for sure. Lake is up 4ft and looks awesome.
