I have ice fished many different ponds for forty years. One thing I have noticed is that not all ponds will have fish that will bite consistently. My newest pond is very poor ice fishing. I drill holes all over and not have good results. Then go to the old pond and have a gill before the gig gets settled and continueous bites. I went to two other local ponds. One of which produces every trip and the other very seldom will produce. I know bottom structure, weeds, and location makes a difference in results. Just wondering what others experience.
BTW, finally got out and put some gills on ice. Going to warm up so the ice fishing will end for now for us southern Indiana boys. That's ok, going to Barkley to look for some crappie this weekend.
Sometimes it is mind boggling and just aint relegated to ponds. I see it happen all the time with the natural lakes up my way. How the switch is flipped off on one and turned on, on another has always puzzled me.
