Yep, that's the place, 'cept they renamed it after old Joe packed up and moved down South. Guessin' it was too much to rebuild and all. Some well-to-do city slicker bought all the land and put up a big mansion. Hardly even recognize that corner any more, but the lake is still there, producing slabs like always...Quote:

Sauger :) I'd probably be fishing them also instead of crappie. Have all year to catch crappie. Only really have the winter to get the sauger. Keep thinking I'm going to head down and try and fish for them every winter, but scared of making that drive for nothing. Heard you never know if the bite will be good or not down there until you show up and try.Quote:

They have been on fire, lately. Water is a too high at the present, but should be back at it by the middle of next week. They stack up just like crappie, they are easy picking when you find them.
