11/17 trip
I meant to post this last week but got too busy to do so. We went out Wednesday night for a trip in the evening and then night fished under the lights. We didn't catch too many fish before dark, but rather most of them came after about an hour of setting around the lights. The fish bit well until about 11:00 then seemed to shut off. We were using ice rods, and slender spoons tipped with a minnow. We did catch a couple with a slip bobber and minnow. It was my first time with any luck with the slender spoons. A buddy was catching them on the slender spoon, so after about an hour with my normal go to jigs I finally gave in and tied one on. One thing I did notice was the minnows swimming around the light looked to be 4-6" long. I wander if the slender spoon tipped with a minnow gave a longer profile that the fish were looking for. The fish were in about 25' of water 10-15' down. We ended up with 26 total, nothing too big just all of them just nice eaters. Mostly 10-11"
