Follow the bait, there's plenty of it right now. As long as you see bait on the surface or in the shallows, no reason why the fish aren't there, too. Old summer haunts are still holding fish, too.

Any thoughts on how this weather is affecting the fish? After this week of cooler temps can I expect the fish to be shallower than the normally are this time of year on Saturday? I'm not fishing a tournament or trying to beat anyone. Just trying to learn and be successful.

i usually find i have to jig deeper in the brush than normal. by that i mean i have to jig near bottom. lighter jigs probably help too. since i dont like to jig that deep while in brush and i dont like tiny jig(no feel), i switch to other species till it turns around. catfish are always willing to stretch your line.![]()
I went this morning and didn't catch a single fish. I was long line trolling. I thought I had these crappie figured out until the last couple of trips.
Should have been pushing--slow around stumps deep.????????
CATCH FILLET
Been catching in my summer spots. Casting 1/16 oz jigs. Nothing has changed for me. Our trolling guys say they are having a little problem. And it should be great this time of year.
