Default missy was great for our first time there

Went to missy on Saturday got a late start we didn't get on the water until around 8am took us a couple of hours to find the crappie but when we did we limited out and was off the water by 230 all crappies weren't huge but wasnt real small either. We got all of them in about 20-22 fow. Anyone know if they have spawned yet.

Glad you caught some fish. As for the spawn, i have been catching males on the bank with there tux on for about 2 weeks. They scattered a bit after the rain last week but have returned again. Not getting a lot of females yet though and the ones i do catch have been moving in right before dark and are still packed full of eggs. The majority of my catch lately is black crappie as well which is ok by me as i think they have a thicker fillet. I have been fishing up near the dam. Got another nice mess on Sunday evening.

They're done in the river. Saw 4 guys hauling nice stringers of 7-9" crappie out of the river Friday and Saturday. I was giving g'kids kayak and canoe rides and letting them fish from the bank.

I ,as well as others, have been throwing those back all spring. We so need a crappie min. size limit in this state.
