I'll have to check German Queen out next yr when I order my 2013 seeds. We've had a pretty good tomato yr, even with the drought. We've canned several qrts of big beef which seem to produce no matter what, and made sauce out of Opalka paste tomatoes, but once again....the Kelloggs Breakfast ( a yellow tomato ) outshined everything for just plain slicing and eating. I had one neighbor who sold 70 lbs of green tomatoes to a local restrauant early in the season. I also found another use for Panko crumbs beside breading for fish.... use them for fried green tomatoes. I wasn't much a fan of fried green tomatoes until I tried them this way. The tomato season is winding down.....

Yea, it won't be long & we will be wanting those homegrown veggies again. We are still getting plenty now & canning salsa weekly it seems. We have a major supply of it now. Like I said the German Queens were very tasty. I also liked the Purple Cherokees. 1st time growing them, but it won't be the last. Rutgers & Supersteaks were our main suppliers this year. You are right the Big Beef are a very productive. I had some of them last year.

My favorite when I use to grow tomatoes was Early Girl. I liked the uniform shape and the first on the block yields :-)
