I got out on Beaver Lake (the big one) at Peabody River King today. I was only here once before and that was with a friend in his boat. I don't really know how much these lakes fluctuate in level but it looked to me like it was down a foot or two. I hope that's the case because it was pretty hard to launch my 1446 alone- the ramp was pretty flat and and shallow. The water was a lot dirtier than I remember and was 84 degrees. Had good luck catching 8 10-11 inch crappie with green and red tube jigs along with about 15 under 9 inch. Mainly trolled at 1 MPH at about 6-8 feet. All in all a fun day except I almost got lost. It's a very confusing jumble of pits and cuts and if I hadn't had the GPS on my phone I would have had to ask someone where the ramp was. Embarrassing to say the least.
Next time I'll try Eagle Lake. When I left I scoped out the ramp there and it looks a lot more serviceable.
