Im pretty new to the forum also. I was thinking abt going down to Grenada next month. Probably the 16-18 just for a wknd. Never been there before. I figured it would be warmer than here in west ky , but still less crowded than primetime. Gonna take the boat, the lakemaster, and some fishing reports and see what I can learn. I know they got some big ole fish and Im gonna see if I can find one.
If you want to ride down and look then carry on with your plan, if you intend to fish I honestly think you are about a month early, at least two weeks. That's 4 decades of experience on this lake speaking and I could be wrong but the odds I am right are really strong.
Well 4 decades of experience speaks volumes for me. If you believe its too early, then its money and time well saved. We love to fish better than boat ride. Have also considered getting a guide for a half day for a brief session in Grenada Crappie classes. A half day will not make us experts by any means, but certainly will make us smarter. Thank you for your words of wisdom.

I can help with that as well if you like, lake is at 194 right now and it won't be much higher the middle of February. Check the MS board under Hard Water in Mississippi, I posted pics there from earlier today. They are from Grenada Landing, this ramp will be the first usable ramp but it needs at least a foot of rise to get my rig out. The narrow canal is the only outlet to the lake right now, doubt it's 6 feet wide.
You hire John (Rees Guide), and it will be well worth it!
