    which crappie stays deeper white or black.seems like I catch WHITES deeper .

    yep whites...they are lazy too.. that's why vertical slow presentations work so well for them. They spend more time waiting for the food to come to them. Blacks or Blacknose spend more time on the hunt and will chase easier.
