Had a full day. Food, bull riding, watching fish, checking out the cows, goats, horses, pigs, etc. Finished with mower racing. What a great day.

Couple of other things to share.
Illinois is full of strip pits. theses used to be old coal mines. Back in the day they would surface mine the coal. Part of the land reclamation project the state bought up numerous old strip mines and turned them into conservation areas. Banner Marsh is one such place. If you ever get the chance to fish Banner, go. However I am warning you now, what you see on the surface isn't what's below. These pits were dug straight down and left shear cliffs. The water could be 70' deep and within a length of a boat it could be 2' deep. Don't assume the entire lake is uniform in depth. Also know most of these lakes are not on any map chips. Now that I have your attention, the fishing can be outstanding.
Piece of coal.

Few more fish on display at Conservation world.
This bull is about 2 years old. They were prepping him for competition.
The Vet Center sponsored a bags tournament (Cornhole).
For you vets out there. The Illinois Fair has one day per year where the vet and his/her family get into the fair for free. All you need is proof of service; military ID, copy of your DD214, etc.
