Well had much better day than yesterday. Was able to get a couple keepers in the boat. I first started in about 12- 14' of water since water temp has been 69-74º I figured maybe females would be spawned out? But no luck so I went in first big cove on left when you come out of marina. And ended up going all the way back into about 3' of water back there. I figured out the males are sitting in 1' of water making or guarding beds. I ended up pick up a couple 10" to 10 and 1/4" males all laying in the thickest branches. I also picked up a ton of little 6" males back there also. When your back there you'll see and here fish right next to bank splashing, that's those little males on the bank. It's just a ton of the little ones, with a few decent ones scattered about. Most of the males were coal black for the spawn, which I thought was about over? But the way that cove was chucked full of them little males it seems to just getting turned on? I did pull two females from way back in cove that appeared to be eggless, that also were 10" fish. I fished back in cove most of the late afternoon, just catching little ones. As the sun started lowering ,I slowly worked my way back out. As your coming back out cove there's a lay down on the left and that's were I picked up the biggest fish of day, a 12" egg filled female in about 2' of water. Name: 20170522_184301.jpg

Size: 79.8 KB The bait that caught most of my fish was a 1/16 ounce weedless jig with a red and chartreuse tube jig. The big female came on the same weight jig head but a 2"yum beavertail in black with blue tail. At end of day I ended up with eight 10"+ fish and than big female, but I did not keep any of them I went ahead and released them all to spawn another day

Thanks good report, I haven't had my usual luck out there this year. Been blaming it on the muddy water from all the rain.
