Believe it or not, I already have a fishing conflict for that weekend. lol
Doesn't mean I won't attend, haven't missed one yet.
I'm flexible and will be camping again.
free thinking, typed in no particular order or any order for that matter.
Doesn't seem like we get that many campers, yet it seemed like we had more people in attendance when everything was at the campground. While I appreciate you and the misses offering up your place and hospitality, maybe we should hold the meet and greet at the campground again?
Maybe instead of the band we just socialize or have seminars put on by members. I'd like to hear more about other peoples stories and how they ended up Crappie fishing. Talk about their last fish trip, or recommend places they like to go and why. Or hear about fishing techniques, electronics, etc.
Maybe do a boat tour- talk about mods you made to your boat, what you like, what you don't like and why?
Talk about your favorite fishing technique, maybe see if we can't pair people up to try out a new methods in someone else's boat for half a day? Swap a trip if you will. I really liked going out with JTMAVs and Toad Frog in the past. Great guys who fish different methods than me.
Maybe we do a seminar show, get a couple of guest speakers to talk about electronics, or finding fish, recipes, fishing techniques, etc? I'd like to see/hear how others use their electronics, how they hunt for fish, and how they like to cook 'em. I know we have forums for most of this stuff, but I am a hands on type of person. Show me. Maybe we give a prize for the best show of the weekend as voted on by attendees? Maybe someone can give us a breakdown on Lake Shelbyville's season and seasonal fish movement. you locals have time to figure it out, us out-of-towers don't have enough time to figure the lake out to be successful.
Just some thought on a rough agenda
Friday night meet and greet.
Saturday morning we meet at a ramp and head out fishing, maybe hook up with someone and try a different technique for the morning. Back to the ramp before lunch.
After lunch meet and do the seminars, break so people can get ready for dinner and meet again for dinner around 6ish.
Sunday morning again meet up at the ramp for another half day of fishing before heading home.
I can't speak for others, however I come to camp to fish, meet new friends and old friends, eat drink and be merry. Depending on how much I eat and drink I can get pretty merry.
Just some thoughts to get he ball rolling.
