Good deal. Sounds like the herniated disc is in your lower back, and it's hiting your sciatic nerve, causing the pain. Nobody wants to have to deal with this kinda stuff, but it's good the aren't screwing around and will get it fixed soon. My mother had the same procedure you will have about ten years ago. Another friend had it done about three two weeks ago. They are both very happy with the results, and have 0 pain anymore. Your procedure will involve a little more post op pain then mine did, but they give you plenty of pain medication and usually have you out of the hospital in a couple days.
