Usually do the Mississippi thang, but considered a trip or two to Kincade. Anybody got a handle on where the crappie are in relation to the spawn? Thanks....

Some are on the beds and some are not. There is some time left but all gonna happen pretty fast now. Most of the fish are bedding in the grass in 2 -3ft of water or so. It's combat fishing, try to pitch it in a hole in the grass and git bit before it gets snot grass on it. Got to clean your hook five times to catch a fish. They will only use grass that's' thick enough. A lot of blacknose this year, caught some of them Saturday that were not even trying to bed yet. Cleaned a few of them and they should be fanning a bed this week I would think eggs are getting closer to ready. So far it seems like you get it in front of one they will snatch it no problem....its getting it in front of them. They will spit it out or not even bite it if it has a smidgen of moss or grass on it.
Doggone is correct, I was out there Tue evening and had the same experience.
