    Default Bo Woods 4-24

Size: 93.1 KBTook my first trip to Shelbyville since I moved to Macon from Ramsey. Still severely bummed that Ramsey is closed. Went to Bo Woods and fished from the bank (I only have a 16 ft jon and didn't wanna fish the wind). Probably caught between 30-40 crappie, but all were 10 inches or under. Lot of fun though. Everyone else was fishin Christmas trees...didn't look like they were catching much, so I walked east and found a stump in the water. Caught them all 1ft under a bobber using a Black/Orange with chartruese tail tube jig tipped with crappie nibbles. Water was only approximately 2.5 ft deep, and only 10- 15 ft from bank. Had a lot of fun. Hopefully bigger ones will move in there. I'd like to go back. Hope this helps out some of you bank fisherman. Sorry, I fileted one before I remembered to take a pic.

Did they close the whole state park or just the campgrounds?

Whole thing from what I understand. They put up barricades, so no boats, no fishing. Unless you sneak in I guess. Too bad. That little lake is awesome. I can't tell you how many time I've been there and got my 10 crappie, 25, bluegill, and 6 cat limits. Great meat lake with good quality fish. Hope the state gets their act together.
