    Default Anybody use a yak??

Thinking about getting a nucanoe for fishing just kind of wanting some opinions on the subject. I don't know that I've ever seen anyone in one where I fish. Outside Bass Pro where does a guy find a shop that sells them around Southern Illinois?

Gander mountain in offallon, do any of the boat dealers sell them? If you want used, Craigslist.
Don't know where you live/fish, Highland old city lake is now open to non motorized vessels. Need water usage stamp or registration from state. And a city sticker.

Draves Archery in Effingham sells Jackson kayaks. Basspro sells Ascend kayaks.
    Nucanoe is a quality product.
My purchasing advice: buy something stable that your going to be comfortable in. Definitely a "Sit-on-top".

Thanks for the replies I found a place in hazelwood Missouri that sells nucanoe I'm gonna check there on Monday. I found a classic on Craigslist but it looked pretty scratched up on the bottom. I'll stop a gander mountain on my way over Monday as it is on my way!!

I'll second that the sit-on-top style is the way to go. Just easier to move around, but are typically heavier to load & unload. I've used a Hobie outback for several years now. They're a little pricey and heavy, but the pedals really help keep you fishing when battling wind or current.

Well I couldn't resist I bought a Frontier 12 in the camo color today and already took it out for its maiden voyage!! It went really well I took it out around the pond for a little while, then my daughter wanted to go so she hopped in. We sure had a good time! I even took a fishing pole with me and caught a bluegill and a nice crappie to boot!! Cant wait to get started rigging it up with a few goodies!

Good for you! If I was smart id sell the boat and get one of those, get a little exercise while I'm fishing. Enjoy
