Eagle Lake, crappie bite was good, caught a lot of 8 in. fish, very few 9 and above.
Has anyone else tried it ?

I was there about 4 years ago. Similar to what you experienced. Bunch of 8" fish and few above 9". I went a couple times and the 2nd time I went I didn't catch hardly anthing. I think I boated two crappie in 6 hours fishing. I did hook several large mouth bass with a bandit crank bait.

Thanks for the reply. I know there are a bunch of 13"and larger crappie there, you have to go through a ton of 8"ers to get keepers. I think it'll be a good idea to allow anglers to harvest all the 8" crappie for at least a season or two, and that'll 1. Thin out the small one, 2. Increase growth and harvest of larger ones.
I've seen and caught 16" crappie there, therefore I know they're there.
