Labor Day Fishing Report
The lake level stands at 601.31 as of todays report and is on the way down. Normal summer pool is 599.7 As it stands now we are a little over 1 foot over summer pool. The crappie are still out In 8-12 feet of water so we have been trolling 200- 300 series Bandit crank baits. We look for the shad schools on main lake and the mouth of coves on the depth finder and you can see the crappie and white bass underneath the shad schools. Use line counter reels so you know how much line you have out and run your speed at 1.6 on gps . The learning curve on this technique is short so by midday you should have it down. With the water temps on the way up the bite should just get better. I won't disclose the exact spot because of the boat traffic over the weekend but it has something to do with a junkyard.. Right Wilbur. lol
In a another note the river has been good for canoes and tubs all summer. It should be busy this weekend. There is a canoe rental at the bait shop below the dam. They also have a ride for you to bring you and your canoe back up river. For more info. you can visit my website at Lithia Fishing Guide - Lake Shelbyville, IL - Home Have fun and be safe this weekend and take a kid fishing when you can. You will be glad you did..enjoy

Sounds good toad.. Hope to see you and Wilbur at fall camp. We're going to hit the junk yard this morning. Try and beat all the boat traffic today and get off the water by 1:00 pm.
