Default help with Mississippi river crappie

I'm out here at my camper on pool 13 and am trying to catch crappie unsuccessfully and getting frustrated I caught 1 in spring lake early in some brush in about 4 feet of water after I got all the bass chased away but that was it I tried for a hour around that tree using all sorts of baits and tubes of all different colors and didn't catch anything else so I tried fishing stumps and deep and shallow water in spring lake so I gave up on it and am trying elsewhere. Im asking for a little advice on where to find fish, not exact spots just a little info on what to look for. Also the crappie I did catch appeared to spawned out it was a real dark black crappie and had no eggs or milt, water temp is 61 to 65 degrees are they done spawning? Thanks for any help in advance.

Go up to crooked slough! Drive around and launch at Pleasant Creek if you don't want to make the run in your boat. Go WAY up in the slough. Blue/white tubes injected with nibbles and tipped with a minnow have always been very productive. Always try black/white as well. I typically used 1/4 ounce jig. Get medium minnows and if the mediums are small, get walleye minnows instead. Find hidden brush and trees.

Crappies on pool 13 are rather hard to come by in the spring for some reason. I wouldn't guess that they have spawned yet
