I'm about an hour away from the lake and I'm staying until Saturday. I will be fishing the south end today. I'll post how things went after dinner

I'm planning to hit Shelbyville this weekend and looking for a little advice.
it seems that the north end is very shallow compared to the rest of the lake.. Almost as if it's two lake in one. when crappie move shallow in the fall should I concentrate on the very north end where there is a vast amount of shallow water or should we focus on back of the bays where it's shallow near the deeper part of the lake.
thanks for any help you can provide just looking to narrow my search down little bit and make more of the day.

That's a very good question. I too would like to know the answer. Maybe Birdie will chime in.

There is active fish to be caught on the lake but most of the lake is struggling right now. Just a weird stage. Been a weird fall and I dont like it. Things seem to be a**backwards. Anyways, generally I would say target the north end in shallow water. However the fish arent there good enough yet. I would target mid lake to the dam hitting laydowns that run out into 10-15ft and fish them from one end to the other adjusting depths. You wont catch more than a handful from each spot so just keep moving.
Wilbur- cranks might be the ticket. Not sure. That or rigging. Its tough. I sure wouldn't want to be an angler on the lake if I didnt have a lot of knowledge of the lake right now I know that!!!!
I took the old stump jumper out for the first time in a few weeks, and hit the area around pt. 2 I had no problem catching a bunch of fish from each brush pile I hit. The problem was the size of the fish. Most were real small, around 7-9 inches. I did catch around 6-8 that would have been over 10 inches. All on jigs in 12-17 feet deep. All in all it was a fun 4 hours on the lake.
Thanks Birdie, that's me no knowledge, only fish it once maybe twice a year.

Nice job Jerry.
Lets go soak a line. Pat
thanks for the input. I ended up staying closer to home and fished evergreen. Fishing was slow managed enough for dinner for tonight. they were not hitting only knew I had a fish it seemed when I moved the jig. 14' seemed to be best depth, water temp rose from 58 to 60 over Friday and sat. Talked to others who confirmed it was slow and many were blanked.
