Rend 10/19/14
While my friends were out helping with the young ones on the Youth Waterfowl Hunting weekend, I decided to take advantage of my friends down at Rend and sample the Crappie fishing which a little bird told me was pretty good.
We went out early, before sunrise, and there were boats all over the place - and not in the tournament! Luckily, we were able to follow Mean Green 2 around and my buddy John already had the area scoped out and it wasn't long before we were catching Crappie. Let me rephrase that, it wasn't long before JOHN was catching Crappie!

I simply wasn't getting the hits he was but more importantly it had been too long since I used a Jig and was missing the taps we all love to feel. I just could not retrain myself to use the wrist to snap the rod up when the tap hit. I simply sucked!

However, John and MG2 put us on fish. And while it took us longer to wade through the 8"<-9" Crappie to get the overs, we ended up with a two man limit and had a great time doing it! Thanks guys for getting me away from home base and taking my mind off of not hunting the Northern Zone opener for waterfowl And here is John with the two biggest fish, that, of course, he caught...

PS I made him hold up the fish to take the picture....
