I'll be going out in the morning if weather allows.
Shot the docks early a.m. Could only get small ones. Came home with six keepers.
It has been a little slow. Catching some good fish in 6-14 fow just not a ton.
After fighting the wind this morning we went back to shoot the docks. We found one honey hole and brought home 32 keepers with minnows.
Anyone else find that Rend is divoid of sets and structure in deeper water? I'm using navionics maps and it shows all sorts of roads, bridges and culverts but I can't seem to find hardly anything on sonar.
Has anyone put out their own sets?
Is "illegal" to dump debris in lake without permit. Plenty of sets. COE Fish attractor map available at visitor center and online. If ya caught 32 cleanable ya'll done great.
Early to bed, early to rise,
Fish like hell, make up lies.
Yeah, it's kinda funny. Buy an expensive boat and wind up catching fish off the docks.
Also, all the crappie were held up under one pontoon. Caught them all in a 5 x 1 foot space between the boat bumpers. They never quit biting. We left because we were tired and hungry.
Everyone has opinions and this is mine! I think everyone who is bragging and who just has to talk about how many fish they catch in Rend is just advertising for additional fishing pressure on the lake. Over the past 5-8 years I have noticed a significant drop in population of crappie. Something has to be done to lower the 25 fish limit, or have a slot limit, or limit of 10 overs and enforce the catch limits, Just sayin!
Thank you for telling it like it really is. I said the same thing on FB brush busters forum a couple of weeks ago and the guides went nuts basically saying I didn't know what I'm talking about. Time we get our heads out of the sand and own up that there is a problem!
