My understanding is that your possesion limit is twice the daily limit and that includes fish in the freezer. If daily limit is 25 than you can not possess more than 50 fish. You may think that the freezer is off limits but you would be wrong if you are caught with an over limit while fishing their is a good possibility that they may come check your freezer. Just read and article from Wi were a fisherman was watched catching his limit in the morning and taking fish in and heading back out and resumed fishing, he was caught with 72 fish in his possession (25 was limit) they then proceeded to his home were they discovered another 900 fish in freezer. How much is enough guys this is the kind of fishing that ruins a fishery. When you reach your limit fish for another species or practice catch and release, when freezer empties go get some more. We all need to leave some for the next generation.
:Rofl:Rofl I remember when there weren't limits, crappie population did just fine. Yes there are down years but it is caused most every time by a past poor spawn not someone catching them out.
Are far as possession limits and what someone does with legally caught crappie that is their business. If you have multible licensed folks in your home them that number would go up.
Oh yeah, my grandfather and mom and a bunch of other older folks would much rather me bring them fish that is cleaned and packaged.:biggrin

PART 810 SPORT FISHING REGULATIONS FOR THE WATERS OF ILLINOIS
SECTION 810.35 STATEWIDE SPORTFISHING REGULATIONS – DAILY CATCH AND SIZE LIMITS
Section 810.35 Statewide Sportfishing Regulations – Daily Catch and Size Limits
4) CRAPPIE (WHITE, BLACK OR HYBRID CRAPPIE)
There are no catch or size limits except in those waters listed under Site Specific Regulations.
So you can catch 500 a day and have 5000 in your freezer if you want in Illinois as long as you aren't taking them from a lake with limits.
^^^^^ dunzo!!!^^^^
How about the fish that is right on the line ten inches. Over or Under?
under
How are they going to tell what lake or even a pond they came out of without doing some high dollar testing on them? Unless you are caught red handed they are not going to do any. Just my :twocents
