    Default Rend 5/22

Fished Sandusky cove in the bushes with my dad and only caught 10 keepers(they were all over 10" though). Was my first time out there this year and we fished hard. Was wondering if the spawn is done on the south end, not quote yet started, or if the mile of buckbrush we fished was just no good? Thanks!

Not sure if it's done, but it's definitely winding down

Fished yesterday caught 15 crappie and 6 channels. 6 fish over 10" its about over. On a bright side we hit the gills real hard. Kept 21gills around 10". Didn't know rend had quality gills like that.

Rend has some dynamite bluegill fishing-shhhhh! Were they on beds or did you catch me' sporadically while crappie fishin? I'm usually late for the crappie because of turkey season, but for the past 5-6 years have been targeting bluegill during the spawn. I'll be down over the weekend and was hoping to catch a few.

they were definetly on their beds. We quit crappie fishing and my brother said he was catching some deep in the brush along the banks and we must of just hit the jackpot. Got real nice fillets off em...most of em all over 10". Real nice gills for around here on a public lake. They were Inca spot the size of the 18' boat...couldn't catch one out of it.

Too late the cat is out of the bag. I too will have to look into this. I dearly love pulling bluegills into the boat. I am not sure anything else fights like a bluegill.

Lb for lb probably ...but a big ol bluecat is tops. I wish there was a place to catch them big gills more often. We wore out that bed they were on and couldn't get another bite...I'll keep looking for em at rend now. Any gill you can get a fillet off is okay in my book.
