With all the power outages/surges we get I don't keep mine plugged in all the time. I'll be installing a GFCI on a separate circuit so that I can, though.

Storm's can blow up real quick like. Lightning, power surges. I don't keep mine plugged in all the time. Never had a problem with battery's not being charged. I Plug it in Every time I get home from the lake and then again the day before I go again.
That wont stop a power surge just a imbalance in the load to keep you from getting shockedQuote:

The chargers are so smart today they are made not to harm the batteries. I just leave it plugged in till I'm ready to go
