what kind of fishing, jig poles? I am going to put regular baitcaster on some of mine for trolling minners

We used both the Wally Marshall and Basspro crappie reels on our jig poles for several years but have went to spinning reels because the anti-reverse and drags seem to work better than the clickers, star drags, and tension adjustments (there's no free spool capability) on the casting frames, they don't fall apart as often, and they're the same price. Plus we can quickly put a cork on and cast with them if we want to. We've also went to Power Pro Super Slick 10/2 braid and have a lot fewer problems with rod tip wrapping and unmanageable wind knots plus it lasts a long time. We try to avoid cranking on the handle when line's not coming onto the spool to avoid twisting but do cut off a few feet occasionally to get a fresh section of line without nicks or twists. And we normally don't fish much deeper than 16' so a 50 yard load lasts a long time.

I've used several of the little baitcasters for tightlining. The ones Grizzly has branded are the cheapest I've found and last the longest. They look & feel cheaper but don't fall apart. Paying 2x more doesn't get you a thing IMO. For long lining or anytime you might want to cast they're worthless, but tightlining I find it handy to have the line on top and since there is no bail to open or button to push it's real easy to just strip line when you need to drop your rigs deeper. They weigh about 1/2 what most spinners do. The worst problem I have with them is line getting behind the spool.

For jigging I like zebco trigger spins, spinning reels for any type of casting Road runners or jigs.
