I would recommend launching at Mascoutin and run that direction

I know West side was frozen a week ago.

I recommend launching at Mascoutin and head toward Westside, it was frozen a week ago. Good luck the marina ramp was frozen also.

I'm sure if you go towards hot water discharge you should have open water. Lots of brush piles toward DeWitt bridge. Use you electronics fish should be deep and on laydowns. Good luck to ya.

I love Crappie.com and how just about everyone shares information with other members. I wish i had better info, but here is all i have, until after this afternoon anyway. I fished Dewitt bridge day after Christmas and had the entire Northeast side to myself. I fished from 8:30 to 11:30, no bites. I was fishing Skiptomylo's Thump it jigs and was just enjoying being out. Fished a 16th ounce grey darter when it was cloud covered, switched to an 1/8th ounce chart/pink/ blue tail combo when the sun shone brightly and ended up throwing a chart. twister tail on the bottom to finish. I kept a cork above Skip's baits and experimented with several depths, i really didnt want to lose them! Spoke to a couple of fellows that caught a few, everyone of them were caught slow bouncing jigs on the bottom. Overall it was very slow going. Spoke to one individual who told me it was his 1st time fishing Clinton and not catching a single fish. Today is the 3rd day of warmer weather with snow in the forecast tomorrow. I'll be throwing jigs this afternoon for sure! Good luck fellows, E.
Most men spend their entire life fishing, without realizing its not the fish they are after!
