Habitat drop for individuals meeting date!

On Wednesday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m. a public meeting about fish habitat structures in Lake Shelbyville will be held at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center Auditorium. The Lake Shelbyville staff is soliciting input on a proposed policy that would allow anglers to place structure in the lake for fish habitat enhancement under a permit system. Currently, it is against regulations for anglers to place any type of structure in the lake outside of the sanctioned fish habitat day held annually in March, and which most recently was held this past weekend. With the high number of visitors that utilize the lake each year for a wide variety of recreational purposes, unauthorized placement of structures can create significant safety risk for all users.
