    Default Mississippi River pool 13

I havent posted any reports on here in a couple weeks but i have been fishing a few times. The fish seem to change every time im out but i always manage to get 10-20 keeper crappie about every time. My best spots have been 5-10ft of water pretty much everywhere i go on the pool. Was getting them on jigs pretty good a few weeks back but now the last 2 trips all fish have been caught on minnows and the hits are getting lighter and lighter every trip. Got my biggest of the fall last week at just shy of 14in and have been getting a couple 12s about every trip. Ive caught fish at mid pool and all the way at the north end of the pool this fall. Now if only the deer hunting can speed up to as good as the crappie fishing!!

Yes that was where my last trip was on wednesday. The two nice black crappie in the picture came from up there. Was the first time i had ever been in there so we didnt think 19 and three over 12in was to bad!

Crooked Slough is my favorite area to fish. I haven't been there since I got my sidescan. I may pull my boat back early, so I can go. The 18" crappie I have a picture of in the big fish thread came from up there.

I dont have a side scan yet but i think i may get one next year and spend some time up there. I know there are trees in there that probably nobody knows about.

I just looked at your pic on the big fish thread and that is a dandy of a crappie! If you ever need a partner for a day of fishing up there let me know!
