Default Crappies from today and Mushroom identification.

Had a group for this weekend cancel last night but boat was already ready to go so it was reallllly hard to try and convince me to go ahead and go fishing anyways today! Fished lots of depths, fshed lots of vacant brush piles, and then you would find a pile that has quite a few. Shallow fish are still most consistent and seem to be the best bite for me 1-4 foot. It just seems like the fish arent biting how they should be right now. Yes you can get a limit, but you have to actually work for it. You will fish a pile and catch 15 fish from it then catch 2 or 3 from the next 5 piles within 50 yards of the one you caught a lot from. Just dont make much sense to this guy its nice to have a challenge though! All fish were caught on HookItBaits jig heads 8th oz chartruese head and SS127 Birdman Special and SS102 Ky Lake Killer in both the Slab Stalker and Slab Pappy Mag.

My buddy, also named Tyler, met me at the ramp about 3 and we switched gears and loaded up the boat with the hunting stuff and headed down the lake to do some hunting. While headin to the stand I came across this mushroom, dont know a thing about mushrooms other than I suck at findin em but I know some of you guys know em all. So whats this fella? There was two of em about 10 foot apart.

Never seen anything like that mushroom. You had better luck fishing than I did yesterday.
Lets go soak a line. Pat

It's called the "Whte Fuzzy Fungus" and if you get anywhere near it, you will loose all your fishing ability.

I've ben catching fish from 4-7 foot deep using 1/8-1/4 oz jigs and any color tube below a cork. I don't think the fish are stacked up on brush so you must have patience and keep casting and hope some fish move in. Sometimes I'll make 20 casts and catch fish on the last three. In 2-3 hours, I've been catching 7-10 keepers over 10.

I noticed a similar pattern yesterday. Only 1 brushpile held most of the fish. Not sure if they had got hit by other fisherman earlier in the day or what. Went to those same spots last weekend and kept 37 between the two of us. Only got to keep 7 yesterday.

I'm no expert but pretty sure that is a coral mushroom, unless you like setting on the throne instead of the boat seat probably better leave it.Nice mess of fish

    Hey Tyler
My brother and I got out this morning and fished SE of Fox Habor , the Okaw Bluff area . We fished everything alike and he couldn't catch any overs . All the overs came out of one spot . We also caught a lot of big whites up there today using a jig and bobber . Only color they would bite for me at least was Red and clear 2 inch tube with silver flake .

    See ya Kevin ><)))*>

    Kevin,

Thanks for the report. I actually fished about 100 yards from you today for about 20 minutes this morning. Saw you guys catch a few from some laydowns. Lake is fishing pretty darn tough right now. Hit or miss!

Hey brother, I let you catch all the over for a reason. I can go out anytime and fish.
