Crappie24, Myself, and one of my buddies made a trip back down to 'sippi this past weekend and got back last night. We fished Grenada Sunday and Monday and fished Sardis from about 8am-till 2 on Tuesday. The buddie I took had never gone before or even caught a big crappie really, after day one he was trying anyway possible to stay more days. Says its not even an option to not come back now! We really couldnt have asked for better weather the 3 days there. Despite a a little ripple the first morning and a very weird unforcasted about 15mph wind untill 1130 monday morning, we didnt have a ripple on the water the 3 days. It was absolutely beautiful out there and catching 2-3lb fish was ok too I guessWe caught the fish on Grenada 8inches to 3 foot deep over 15-35 foot of water. Some of the fish that hit would leave a huge swirl as they took the top bait hook. We lost some absolute giants were just going to say were carp to make us feel better! Water was 46 degrees at both lakes. We used 16ft rods and we needed every inch of them as we had lots of fish spook on top of the water that were up sunning themselves. We got to watch an eagle come down not 50 yards from us and swoop a crappie right from the water that was up sunning too! At Sardis the fish were about 3-7 foot deep over 18-25 foot of water. We caught tons of fish at Sardis and had a great time. Sunday we had a 16" fish and a couple over 15" and then some 14s and several 13s and ended up with 17 keepers for the day, we didnt find the fish untill the last hour and a half really. Monday we went out and we couldnt fish where we wanted because of the unforcasted wind then when it died about 1130 we went back and started catchin them and ended with 27 keepers for the day. I caught another fish over 16" @3lbs and we had multiple 15+ inch fish again. Tuesday we were out on sardis and we ended up with 17 keepers for half a day and we had six fish over 15.5". All I know is when you set the hook on them suckers and they turn in the water and you see them flash you about crap!! You know you have a goodun when you set the hook and the rod doesnt move up haha. Anyways, another great time with great people and unbelievable weather! Cant wait till end of Feb and March then Crappiemasters in April!

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

What an awesome trip and great report, planning on a trip to Grenada myself this coming March, can't wait!!
I don't even want to hear about it, but good job guys. I had to stay here and catch bunches and bunches of those dinky 11 inchers. Birdy, you are really spoiled now.
Wowzer!!!
Son of Jim! Those are some absolute giants! Congrats! What's the lodging like on that lake? Do they have cabins or lodging available on the water?
Thanks guys. In grenada there is loads of hotels just 5 minutes from grenada landing and hugh white state park landing. We stayed at the Motel 6 there in Grenada and we paid 45 bucks a night tax included. Im not sure about cabins on grenada. On sardis however there is cabins not 5 minutes from the lake, they are up by the dam which is where we put in at. They are very plain and simple but your there to fish not lounge! One major downfall is both lakes dont have ANY fish cleaning facilities so you need to bring all your cleaning stuff.
