Grenada Lake Spawn

We have some good dates open for our spring spawn fishing with John Woods, it should be a good spawn again this year.
This will be the only time I will post this, so yall please don't get mad at me, but there are other post here for things for sale here also, at lease this is about crappie fishing.
Grenada Lake is very low right now, but the COE will have it back up by the spawn. It was build for flood control, and that is why it's drawn down every year.
The crappie still have to be 12 inches long to be kept, that rule is really paying off for the lake in size and numbers.
Some information for those who come down to fish Grenada Lake.....
From the middle of March to the end of March, the crappie run a little larger that in April, but you don't catch as many. Here March weather is very iffy on the lake, cold fronts and high winds, So April is better in that way.
Also we believe big minnows will catch bigger crappie.
The bigger the crappie the more lazy it is, they like it slow almost still, and won't chase a minnow or jig very far for the meal, something like us humans.
The Huge White State Cabins on the lake I here are all booked up for the spawn, on Gore Springs Hwy, south of Graysport Landing Ramp, Clean and decent, with a Bar & Grill next door. I've heard The Grill has good food, but I've never eaten there.

I made a booboo on the post. I ment to say for a place to stay close to the lake. Ham Bones is
on Goresprings hwy close to Graysport Landing. The cabins are clean and about $50 dollars a day, there number is 662-226-2460. Sorry about boo boo.

JTMays.... Thanks...Feel free to email me with any questions about fishing Grenada, I'll help anybody, it's not all about booking a trip. I know if I came there yall would help me to have a good trip.
In the summer when the water heats up, yall might try pulling crank baits, they do a really good job, and it can be some fast fishing when you get in a school.
We pull Bandit Cranks Baits, the 300 model for deeper water and the 200 model for shallow water.
It seems the best colors are Hot Pink, Pearl White with the red eyes, and Chartreuse.
Grenada is muddy so those color's show up best in the water.

Wilbur....You won't really need to book a room in advance, unless there is a major fishing tournament is going on. Grenada has all the major motels.
The Huge White State Park there on the lake, I've ''heard'' is already booked up, don't know that for sure...just saying.
Any days 3rd through 9th of April, will be very good for you.
You can check on the Ms. forum and someone can fill you in on the Tournament dates, I think they have a sticky posted on that.
